PhotoFest | Mindful Photography: Awaken Creativity with Kenna Klosterman

This experiential workshop explores photography as a mindful practice—inviting you into a state of presence and creative flow—and demonstrates how mindfulness enhances your photographic perception, creativity, storytelling, and emotional connection with the world around you. Both photography and mindfulness share the intention of being fully present in each moment. Whether you’re drawn to abstract details, expansive landscapes, expressive portraits, architectural lines, or fleeting moments in travel and street photography, the principles of mindful photography apply across all genres.

Through guided exercises and practical techniques, you’ll learn to see everyday subjects with fresh eyes, embrace your natural curiosity, and create images that genuinely resonate. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer looking to reconnect with your creative spark or simply seeking a more present, intentional way of seeing, you’ll leave inspired, refreshed, and equipped to cultivate a deeper, more meaningful photographic practice.

Bring a camera to participate in the interactive exercises. A limited number of Tamron lenses will be available for loan during the workshop.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Kenna Klosterman is a travel & portrait photographer, Tamron Ambassador, tour leader and educator. For over a decade she hosted 1000+ CreativeLive workshops, classes and podcast episodes across the subjects of photography, filmmaking, graphic design, art and entrepreneurship. Practicing a life of presence on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, Kenna leads mindfulness retreats and teaches meditation. She loves nothing more than to hold space for people to have creative and transformational experiences around the globe.

Now in its 16th year, PhotoFest continues to exceed our wildest expectations. The three-day event includes a broad spectrum of on-location shoots, studio settings, photowalks, lectures, and product demonstrations.
